We stayed here for Christmas week, 2011; my two sisters and our mother, together with our families. Our group ranged from 16 to 84 and we came together from all over the map: Brooklyn, Seattle, Albuquerque and Sacramento. It was just a perfect place for us all to gather. There were 12 in our group so we used Villa Reyes and another house at Playa las Tortugas. The house was everything pictured and beautifully equipped. PLT is a hidden treasure, the grounds are beautifully maintained, and the staff extraordinarily helpful. We were so happy to be out of the hustle of the large resort scene but wanted for nothing. We tended to start our days at Villa Reyes with coffee, breakfast and yoga on the palapa with nieces, nephews, sisters and brothers-in-law straggling in as they awoke (even Mom made it over!), before transitioning onto our activities for the day and to the other house for lunch and dinner. In varying combinations, we took full advantage of what was offered... surf and boogie boarding, kayaking and using the stand up paddle board (on both the estuary and the sea), walking (and wading) over to Platanitas for lunch, horse back riding on beach at sunset (now that will be a memory for a lifetime!) and, of course, sharing in three releases of turtle hatchlings. "Off campus" we enjoyed the bird-watching jungle cruise near San Blas (perfect with our mother) and a day trip to Sayulita (perfect for the teens and 20 somethings...). We also took advantage of the meal preparation and enjoyed delicious dinners almost every evening. It was a just a great place for a family vacation!

We were lucky to have scheduled our vacation at Villa Reyes shortly after the new owners had refurbished it and changed the name from Villa Michelle. The features described in the listing were "spot on". Our children liked having the pool, the beach, and the estuary all located within a short walk from our location. The whole family was excited to take the kayaks to explore the estuary. We even kayaked across the estuary to have lunch twice at the restaurants at Platanitos. I enjoyed the scenic settings for photography and my husband enjoyed his morning exercise on the beach. All in all, this was a fantastic place to relax and unwind.
Our housekeeper was so helpful and she made sure our needs were attended to. We also decided to have some meals prepared by the staff & found the veggies, local seafood, and desserts to be especially good. The Property Manager arranged for horseback riding on the beach. We took a day trip for shopping in Puerto Vallarta and stopped at a Tequila Distillery . We also enjoyed "people watching" in the nearby village of Zacualpan. We have plans to invite my husband's parents to join us at Tortugas next time.

We had such an amazing time here! Just what we needed - a holiday in the sun. The house is amazing; we have never felt more comfortable staying in someone else's home. The beach is absolutely wonderful, it's so great to get some privacy! We spent many days enjoying the surf and the sun, along with many of the countless activities that Playa Las Tortugas has to offer. This was such a unique experience and we loved every second of it. The staff was wonderful and helpful, and they helped make sure that our stay was fun and rejuvinating. Thank you for opening your home to us.
Magnificent Place

My wife and I spent the past 7 days in this magnificent place. All the staff and residents were very friendly and outgoing. This was our honeymoon so being isolated from the world was perfect for us. We spent 2 days away; one day up in San Blas, which I recommend and then one day visiting all the towns along the coast south of here. Both of which were worth the trip. Our cook Bella provided us with outstanding meals each day we were here and will be one of the many things we miss when we leave. This was just a very peaceful and theraputic week that we hope we can repeat many more times in the future! The turtle release every night is the main thing that will be missed!

We've spent 9 wonderful days at the Villa Michelle (now Villa Reyes)and we've LOVED it!! We complement you on the care you've put into decorating - it was very comfortable. Loved the boogie boarding, kayaking, beach combing, sunsets and the geckos. We would definately recommend checking out some of the towns on the coast - and in the area. It was nice to see the real Mexico. The staff at Playa Las Tortugas was very professsional and made us feel welcome and well cared for. We were happy to have stayed this time and would love to return again!
